Epiphany of the Lord: Letter to the Magi
In the Spanish tradition, on this festivity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Christmas gifts are delivered, after the Three Wise Men have left them in each home after the parade on the night of December 5th. Like all the children who participate in the tradition, we have also written our letter.

Very dear ones:
The date for you to come to my apartment is close and, really, I am very excited that you are coming. This year I have behaved well and I have complied with most of the things that I have to do. I know that I am a little too old to ask for toys, video games or anything else; but since you are on your way, I would like to take advantage of the trip.
Here are my wishes:
- I would like a box of joy that overflows to all sides; if possible, in individual presentations (they are to be shared individually) or in surprise packages (they are to surprise), accompanied by their main accessories: smiles, hugs, meetings, "I love you", or whatever shape you have in your stock.
- A new heart, because mine is getting too small with so many people that I am meeting and I fear that it will run out of space; Also, mine already has some scars and I want a new one as standard to show it off everywhere.
- I don't know if you have a little understanding available; It's not for me, because I still have a bit of what they gave me at birth; Actually it is to use it as a balm for the world, because sometimes I notice that it wears out a lot in its daily rotation. You know, if you still have some in the store, bring me some.
- Now that I'm getting older, I see that I'm lacking availability. I tell you: I have found out that there is someone who has loved me forever and I have not been able to reciprocate because I lack availability. I have known that it is necessary to assist my neighbor and follow him wherever he wants him to go; That's why I'm going to occupy it, if you bring it to me.
Without further asking for the moment, I say goodbye to you with the hope that I will receive everything I have asked for and much more...
PS: when you get to see the Child, give him a kiss from me.
We too, recognizing Christ as our king and priest, honor him as if we had offered him gold, frankincense, and myrrh; We only need to bear witness to him by taking a different path from the one we have followed to come (St. Augustine, Sermon 202,3,4).
