The days organized by the community of friars began on April 1 at 4:30 p.m. with the words of welcome from the parish priest Alberto Moreno and Antonio Antón, vocation promoter. Both told the young people what they dreamed of this Youth Easter, the first edition after many years.

After the words of welcome, Friar Alfonso Dávila began with the first topic entitled: “Friends and foot washers wanted!”. The young people participated in the liturgical celebration of Holy Thursday and a holy hour.

On Friday, April 2, the day began at 3.30 pm with the topic entitled "Why should I get off the plum?" using the character from the novel Nadade Jane Teller. The young people were introduced to Piere Antoine, a young man who decides to climb a plum tree because he does not want to live life, but also does not want to die and is terrified of committing suicide. They talked about how we live our life and to what degree we feel challenged by the other. The young people also helped in the services on Good Friday. After the celebration of the liturgical office they lived the Stations of the Cross.

On Saturday of glory we closed the journey. They worked the dream that young people have. Their personal dreams were kept in envelopes and in ten years they will be returned to them. They were also asked about the dream inside the Parish of Saint Rita. From the authenticity that the young people have, they proposed, as a dream:

  • Go to WYD in Lisbon
  • Create a youth choir
  • Make youth gatherings
  • Organize summer camps
  • Live holy hours
  • Visit cloistered convents
  • Make video calls to Recollect parishes in other countries
  • Sleep-in in church
  • Make solidarity markets
  • Watch movies
  • Get to know the house of the friars
  • See the friars dance
  • Put a disco ball in the Church ...

These are some of the dreams of these young people, which were presented as offerings at the Easter vigil. With them comes a commitment as a community, to welcome and accompany them. These young people are not the future of our community, but they begin to be “our today”, the today of the Parish.
