In the manifestation of the celebration of thanksgiving, a memorial was presented of the missionary gestations – "Always on mission" is the motto of this Fourth Centenary – of the Province in its 400 years of existence and its fruits in the various countries where it has become present. With the inlet song, intonated by theAugustinian Recollect Nuns of Lindora, in Pozos de Santa Ana, St. Joseph began the celebration, involving 7 bishops, including the Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Bruno Musaró, 17 religious of the Delegation of Costa Rica, 13 diocesan priests, some 20 religious, including the Augustinian Recollect nuns and more than 70 lay people from the various Augustinian ministries. The celebration took place normally, always complying with strict health measures.
The homily of Archbishop Angel San Casimiro was marked by an accent of gratitude for the work that the Province of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino has done in its 400 years of life. Beginning with a historical overview of the birth of the Province, he highlighted his missionary character, invited, in imitation of St. Nicholas of Tolentino, to live the holiness to which every Christian is called, and recalled the dedication of so many religious who throughout history have lived at the service of the Church.
In thanksgiving to God for the gifts received, after the homily ended, the Augustinian-Recollect Family gathered in the presbyter to, united, renew their religious vows, signs of their bond with God through the Augustinian charism.
The Eucharistic celebration continued as normal. At the close of the Mass Archbishop Bruno Musaró, bishop of Alajuela Monsignor Bartolomé Buigues and bishop of Ciudad Quesada Monsignor José Manuel Garita Herrera, expressed their appreciation to the Order of Augustinians Recollects and his presence in Costa Rica for more than 50 years.
