Annual meeting of the priors of the communities of the Province of San Nicolás de Tolentino of the Augustinian Recollects in Europe
On November 18th and 19th, the priors of the communities, convened by the provincial of San Nicolás de Tolentino, Sergio Sánchez, met at the formation house of Las Rozas. The agenda to be discussed was presented in the first days of October in the call letter. The intention of the company was to focus primarily on the Evaluation of the Life and Mission Project of each community and the care of the elderly and sick brothers.
Life and Mission Project Assessment
On the one hand, the first day was devoted to the beginning of each of the communities as a result of thisevaluation: the life of relationship, community meetings, attention to one's spirituality and on the other hand the exercise of the ministries entrusted to each community: missionary, ministerial and educational apostolates, attention to vocations and young people, interest and dedication in the formation of the religious.
Caring for the elderly and sick religious
On the morning of the second day he devoted himself to a reflection and information, on the care of the elderly and sick friars. Eva López, mother, nurse and teacher of the Center for the Humanization of Health of the religious Camilos, presented the guidelines on the health of the elderly from a comprehensive perspective. Accompanying the ageing and becoming aware of how to live in the future that stage of life.
The speaker described the diversity of situations and attitudes that occur in the later stages of life, as a result of advanced age or disease: physical dimension and its cognitive and behavioral changes...
In open dialogue he responded with guidelines to the various situations that occur in the elderly.
Information and coexistence
The day concluded with information and proposals of the Commission of Missions: what is expected of the twinning of mission and border lines with the rest of the ministries and communities of the Provicia de San Nicolás. There was also an orientation to welcome the initiative of "Corazón solidario" of the Order of Augustinians Recollects.
The provincial prior presided over the celebration of the Eucharist in which all those called to the conference and the community of the St. Augustine formation house participated. The reflection and commentary of the gospel account of the blind man who asks Jesus for compassion from the edge of the road served him to propose an approach to the Lord, including for the participants.
